Clarification
Ok, so having read my Chicago post one would think that I had an awful time judging by the first couple days. THAT IS NOT TRUE!!! I dont know why it all came out like that. I really did love it and I loved everything. The people I was with are what made each of those things we did enjoyable. I hope none of you thought that I hated the whole trip. Not true friends. Not true.
Chicago!!!
So I have made an executive decision that Chicago is one of my favorite cities!!!! It is such a fun place to be. I was excited to go, but I wasnt quite sure how it would be. I never knew there was so much to do in Chicago. Well, we decided we were going to a city pass which got us into 5 or 6 museums and the sears tower for pretty cheap. With that we did the Field Museum which was cool, but not my favorite. Then we did the aquarium which was so fun!! I didnt think it would be very exciting, but I was wrong. We ended up staying there for about 4 or 5 hours. Im pretty sure we saw EVERYTHING in the aquarium. Then I guess in Chicago, the big day for fireworks is the 3rd of July instead of the 4th. So we plopped a spot on the grass by the lake and watched them. They were pretty but I think the ones they do here are better. There wasnt any music so that was kind of their downfall in my opinion.
P.S. I found Nemo.
The next day we did Sears Tower and walked a lot. I honestly cant remember all we did that day. Oh yes! I remember now. Thats the day we went to The Taste of Chicago. Its where a lot of the food vendors in Chicago all gather and then you can experience all the foods of Chicago. It was a good thought. I honestly had a very hard time enjoying it. It was raining and it was crowded. 2 things that do not go well together. The food was good, but I had a very bad attitude and I was wet. But then after that we went to Navy Pier. It was fun but once again because it was raining we pretty much stayed inside. I would like to go there again and go all the way to the end of the pier. A few people in our group did it and they said it was pretty cool. Going back to the Sears Tower, which the name has technically been changed to Willis Tower or something like that. Weird. Anyway, they had this glass box thing you could step out onto and pretty much all that was below you was air and the tops of buildings. You were standing directly over the city. Kind of scary and being out there actually made me dizzy. But I did it because I am so cool.

And here is us sitting on it...
It actually was very cool to see all the things below. Kind of creepy yes, but still fun!
The next day we went to the planetarium. I was so excited because this was the one thing I really wanted to do...and it was a dud. Not that cool. I was so disappointed. I was expecting it to be awesome and...it was not. But then we walked to Buckingham Fountain and it saved the day. It was so fun! I forgot how huge it was! It was so pretty!
After that the parents left. I was sad to see them go. I was secretly hoping they would miss their flight so they could stay and then I felt bad when they almost did. But after that we went to Millenium Park which was honestly one of my favorite parts of the trip. It was so chill and relaxed. Everything up to this point had been go, go, go but we were able to take things really slow and just enjoy the park. They have a pretty cool fountain there and all the kids were playing in it. There was also an individual who was dancing in water. No one can be sure if it was a male or female but it was very good at dancing!
The next day I got to go to breakfast and hang out with my friend Jae who I havent seen in a couple years! It was fun to be with him and just to catch up on what was going on in each others lives. We met a few years ago when I worked in Wyoming and have stayed in contact since. He is from just north of Chicago, so it worked out perfectly!
Oh my gosh!!! I almost forgot!!! You know how I said that the park was favorite part? I was totally lying! Im very sorry. My absolute favorite part was when we got to go to the Cubs game at Wrigley Field!!!!!!! How could I forget?! It was so fun!!! The fans there are so great. There were a few people in our group that were cheering for the Braves and one lady after the game told them she was sorry that the Braves lost and they played a great game. I thought that so sweet! The game was so fun!! I loved being there. I love baseball! I dont understand why people dont like it. It is after all, America's favorite pastime.
The next day we just kind of took it easy. Aly and my flight was supposed to be at 4 so we just hung out around the city till we went to the airport. (That is an entirely different story which I will tell later)
I loved loved loved Chicago!! It was so fun to be with friends and family. We had a blast and I would do it all over again. All of it. Even The Taste of Chicago.
P.S. If you have made it to the end of this novel I award you a gold star. :)
